On any given day, hundreds of thousands of people across the country are watching birds. So what’s the draw? Why are people doing this? Well, for one thing it’s rather inexpensive. All you really need to begin your bird watching hobby is a pair of decent binoculars or a camera. And it’s great excuse to spend some time outside in fresh air, alone with nature – the sounds, the smells… It’s a communal experience.
Scream For Freedom
It is said the eagle was used as a national emblem because, at one of the first battles of the Revolution (which occurred early in the morning) the noise of the struggle awoke the sleeping eagles on the heights and they flew from their nests and circled about over the heads of the fighting men, all the while giving vent to their raucous cries.
